JUNE 30, 2019 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

We praise God for the blessings of the 3rd World Missions Conference, the main highlight of the 3rd Missions Anniversary yesterday morning of our Bethany Mission work at JPA Subdivision in Muntinlupa City. This is led by Mission Pastor Gideon Onerh Villanueva. Thank God for the privilege and opportunity to bring God’s message and challenge as well as in the other Saturday and last Sunday’s 1st World Missions Conference and 1st Mission anniversary respectively of our Bethany Mission work in Puerto Princesa, Palawan City. What a joy to see the DNA and influence for World Missions of Christ’s Church here in Bethany captured and imbibed in our Mission works, daughter Churches, and spilling over to a lot more partnering Churches here and abroad.

We thank God for His enabling and sustaining grace upon us here in Bethany, in doing our part in the continuing thrust and challenge in World Missions pursuit. This is indeed the main thing in our Church Mission that is, the fulfilment of the Great Commission in reaching the lost world with the Gospel of Christ. We continue to faithfully and diligently get engaged as an individual member and as Christ’s corporate body in reaching with the salvation message our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost part of the earth.

The Bible says in Daniel 12:3, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” The way to shine for God is to turn many to righteousness, who is God Himself. Essentially, the work to which God calls us is to turn men unto Himself, who is righteousness. It is not our business simply to turn people toward Church membership, good habits, or clean living. It is our work to turn men to the righteousness which is in Jesus Christ – that righteousness which can be obtained only through faith in the Son of God.

My dear brethren, may we realize that the Christian who shines here and hereafter is the one who engages in the work of turning men to God. When we turn them to God, we are turning them from sin and judgment and eternal hell. There is no greater work than this! For us to be effective in this work, we need to have an experience of grace, a consecrated life, prayer, alertness, dependence on the Holy Spirit, tears, and faithfulness.

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
