AUGUST 19, 2018 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

Thank God for the privilege and blessings of taking part in the 19th World Missions Conference last week hosted by Bible Baptist Church in Cebu City led by Pastor Dr. Armie Jesalva, with his son, Associate Pastor Kent Jesalva. We appreciate much God’s messages and challenge received especially through the main speaker, Pastor Mark Chappell of Freeway Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The theme “Keep the Faith – The best is yet to come”, reminds and exhorts each co-labourer in God’s vineyard of the need to stay true and faithful to the Faith or the body of Truth which was once delivered unto the saints. Indeed, Christianity is based on one Faith which was once for all delivered unto the saints.

As God’s people we are mandated to go forth, and give out the message of our Faith – the message of Christ. We have been entrusted with a message that has the potential to change people’s eternal destiny. The message of Faith we bear and share can help comfort the afflicted, convict the sinner, and challenge the believer. We have the truth, and this truth must be proclaimed. It can touch hearts and transform lives. The Bible commands us among others, in I Peter 3:15, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

In faithfully and effectively giving out the message of our Faith, we need to have, just like the Apostle Paul, the heart of a Missionary, carrying out God’s Commission with real conviction, care, and compassion. And just like the uncrowned king Jonathan in the Old Testament, we need to sincerely surrender our reasons, resources, rights, relationships, and rank for God’s purpose and glory! We therefore CONTINUE to cast, invest, or disperse our life upon the sea of humanity. The Bible in Ecclesiastes 11:1 clearly directs us, “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.” Likewise, the Bible exhorts us in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

My dear brethren, let us sincerely “Keep the Faith”, and CONTINUE on in the ministry by faith and for the Faith – for the advancement of the timeless TRUTHS, that have been passed down from generation to generation for some 2000 years!

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
