APRIL 7, 2019 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

Let us continue to pursue fulfillment of, and even, by God’s enabling grace, leveling-up our Stewardship and Faith Promise Missions Giving Commitment. We thank God for the Php184k Faith Promise Missions Giving weekly average for the first month last March representing 5 Sundays. This somehow approximates our average last year 2018 at Php187k. We believe God will enable us to do much more considering that said amount is just around 60% of our Tithes. We pray that every member sincerely get involved, trusting God to at least equal our Faith Promise with that of our Tithes. It is indeed but a good place to start with, fully assured that God “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think , according to the power that worketh in us.”

We must moreover always recognize the principle, the purpose, and the promise in our giving as clearly set forth in II Corinthians 9:6-8. The principle is spelled-out in verse 6 where it says, “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” The purpose is seen in verse 7, “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” And the promise is given in verse 8, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work .” Truly, we can never out-give God!

My dear brethren, may we heartily recognize and realize the primacy of God in our lives. The Bible in Acts 17:28 emphatically declares, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” May we, like David as he set his affection to the house of God, leading the people of Israel with the offerings in preparation for the building of the temple, humbly admit as in I Chronicles 29:14, “But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.” We NOW continue to invest for eternity!

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
