SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

What a blessing to take part even at the culmination day last Thursday in the 8th World Missions Conference of Pigcarangan Bible Baptist
Church in Tubod, Lanao del Norte. Indeed, God has done, and is doing great works and miracles not only in its amazing Church facilities, but in the continuing growth in numbers, spiritual growth of members, and remarkable growth in World Missions involvement. What an encouragement and inspiration to see how God can use, and work with a simple hard working and faithful man like Pastor Rey Subrabas.

Their WMC theme this year, “WORK” is surely a fitting reminder, call, and challenge to every believer to spiritual service with the direction of, and complete dependence upon the Lord. It is based on John 9:4 wherein our Lord Jesus declared, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” In speaking these words, Jesus was in essence inviting us to participate with Him in doing the works of God. Spiritual service is actually doing what the Father through the Holy Spirit directs. We are to do “His Work” under His direction

My dear brethren, Spiritual Service is indeed God’s Work, and it is Work done under God’s direction, and dependent upon God’s power. We are to fully cooperate with God in doing His Work. Jesus aptly said in John 15:5b, “…for without me ye can do nothing.” Successful spiritual
service is cooperation with the Lord, so Jesus can work in us and through us by the power of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual service basically includes the demonstration of God’s love and the consequent effective declaration of God’s truth. There is an urgency in declaring the truth of the Gospel, and because of this urgency, we must use our time wisely and our gifts zealously.

Paul said of our Lord Jesus in Titus 2:14, “Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” My dear brethren, let us truly be peculiar people, zealous of good works, and really be on fire for
God. It is by then that we will work the works Him”, and we “must work the works of Him”, because “the night cometh when no man can work.” May we then consistently and faithfully respond to God’s call to spiritual service, and assuredly engaged in the Work!

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
