DECEMBER 9, 2018 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

It was last Wednesday Evening Midweek Service when we formally released for membership transfer, and simultaneously recognized God’s call upon our on-deck Missionary, Bro. B.R. to officially oversee Heritage Bible Baptist Church vice Pastor A.L. who had a redirection of his ministry in the USA. Missionary B. has been an on-loan Missionary/Transition Pastor of HBBC in the past 6 months, and even in previous years as requested. We thank God for enabling us to help another Church of like faith and practice, provide spiritual leadership which could somehow carry-on God’s desire for a heart focused in vigorously fulfilling the Great Commission.

What a blessing to make a quick visit last Thursday and Friday to our Bethany Mission work in Tagum, Davao and look see foremost the condition of our Missionary Rhory Mearns who is recuperating from the heat stroke suffered last early November. We thank God for his continuing fast recovery with his on-going therapy that even enables him to continue preaching and ministering to the brethren. What a joy to meet with the brethren/members in a special service last Thursday morning and encourage them as well from the Word, to continue in God’s grace plan that is truly perfect for our lives. It was likewise a privilege to administer baptism to 4 believers/ young people faithfully attending our Church Mission. Indeed our Lord has prepared people with their hearts ready for the Word and willing to serve, and be a blessing for God to the work and the harvest field.

We continue to pray and prepare for our Thanksgiving Sunday this December 16, and likewise get ready to partake in our upcoming Lord’s Supper celebration on December 23. Let us truly and consistently have a pure and grateful hearts as we individually and corporately remember the Lord who bestowed upon us the gift of eternal life, shedding His precious blood on the Cross of Calvary for our redemption. The Bible aptly reminds and exhorts us in II Corinthians 9:15, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.”

My dear brethren, let us at the same time continue to pray and really start preparing for our Church 65th anniversary celebration, and the highlighted 19th World Missions Conference. It will somehow also be in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of Asia Baptist Clearinghouse servicing facility. There are currently 29 new batch of Missionary families already pre-interviewed, sent-out from various partnering Churches, and desiring to avail use of ABC servicing facility. We soon reconstitute our Anniversary and WMC Task Force on Responsibilities.

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
