JUNE 17, 2018 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

We CONTINUE sending out Missionaries, planting Churches through starting new Mission works, and likewise keep on partnering with other Churches in pursuing World Missions. We recognize God’s direction and way to continue by His enabling grace to reinforce the World Mission base primarily here in the Philippines with the establishing, edifying, and expanding on new Mission works and Churches. Among others, we formally recognize this June 20 Wednesday Midweek service the adoption and rehabilitation of a work in Baybay City, Western Leyte. We thank God for enabling us to help in the smooth transfer of Pastoral leadership last Sunday at Bethany Hernani, Eastern Samar. We assist in the recognition of God’s call on Missionary Bobby Widwidan as new Pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Baguio City, and likewise help in the Church’s pressing onward upward with the celebration of their 34th Church anniversary on June 24. We pray and closely follow through ministries’ progress in our recently started Mission work in Taguig City and Tagum City.

We then schedule the Commissioning on August 12, along with our Sunday 4 o’ clock afternoon service of now on-deck Missionary J. and J.S. as our Missionary to I.. They will then be doing advance deputation and request partnering churches’ support to meantime be under the care of Missionary R.C. (of Team I.) through Asia Baptist Clearinghouse. We look forward to the Commissioning at the latter part of this year or early next year of our other on-deck Missionaries to the foreign fields of B., P.N.G., V., and even N.Z. and R.

On July 01, in our Sunday morning worship service, we expect our newly elected Barangay officials, particularly here in Palanan and in nearby San Isidro to yield to our invitation for them to attend our service that will be in conjunction with their assumption of, and actual start-up in office as elected community leaders. We pray for, and ask God’s guiding hand, wisdom, direction, and righteousness in their leadership. We most of all pray and hope that they will sincerely have a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, where all authority emanates. The Bible in Proverbs 29:2 clearly declares, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”

My dear brethren, as we celebrate Father’s Day, and honour our fathers today, may we always recognize the great role they fill in the training of their children. Fathering is indeed a God-given responsibility. We are always to thank God for our fathers as we likewise thank God for our mothers, for without God using them as His instruments, we won’t be here in this world. In our sophisticated, gadget driven, and social media manipulated culture today, a father faces immense challenges and temptations. The good news however is that the Bible we have is still relevant, and God is still in control. God is still pro-family, and the father of today has unprecedented opportunity to let his faith and testimony shine brightly and be a real influence for good and the right notwithstanding the circumstances around him.

Happy Fathers’ Day!

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
