Dear Brethren,
We praise and thank God for the blessings and victories of the 1st Mission anniversary celebration last Friday of our Bethany Tagum, Davao Mission work led by Missionary Pastor Rhory Mearns. Their anniversary theme, “Our Journey in God’s Faithfulness”, indeed reflects God’s continuing favour, goodness, and faithfulness in their lives and ministry, and their rightful faithful response therein. Such response really needs to be true and evident in all of us, as we journey on in our Christian life and witness.
As we journey on in this race of faith, we are to take heed of what the Bible exhorts us in Hebrews 12:1-2, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” In essence, we need to remember our encouragers, remove our encumbrances, run with endurance, and reflect on our example, who is no other but our Lord Jesus Christ. No one ran a harder race and a more successful race, and no one left us a better example than did Jesus. He ran the race for us. He did it, so that we, like Him, would be faithful and diligent unto the end.
My dear brethren, let us continue to follow Jesus, be renewed day by day in Him, and be more and more like Him. Inevitably, we truly will love God’s work, seek God’s presence, and abide in God’s strength. We then joyfully press on in our journey of faith with renewed vigour, enthusiasm, and faithfulness.
