AUGUST 20, 2017 – NOTE FROM THE PASTOR

Dear Brethren,

We congratulate our Bethany Mission work in Basista, Pangasinan on the celebration today of their 5th Mission anniversary highlighted as well by their 5th World Missions Conference. Their prayed for them, “Here Am I”; Send Me” based on Isaiah 6:8 is indeed an appropriate and excellent response especially to our Lord Jesus Christ’s prayer request in Matthew 9:38. “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest”. Apparently, as our Lord Jesus earlier on said unto His disciples, “The harvest truly is plenteous but the laborers are few”.

Thank God for enabling us to do our modest share in sending-out, partnering, and supporting many more missionaries in the vast harvest fields of the world. We gladly recognize God’s call and accordingly help those whom He called prepare for the harvest. It will likewise eventually involve holding the rope of prayer, financial, and relational support. We really need to press on “By Faith” fully trusting God that He is “able to make all grace abound toward us”, and likewise “do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Let us continue on, my dear brethren, to really take to heart and endeavor by God’s empowering grace, to carry out and carry on the challenge of doing much more in our Stewardship and Faith Promise Missions Giving. May we have that resolved and determination to be the kind of steward that God wants us to be. Would to God, we be truly faithful, good, wise, and trustworthy stewards of God’s manifold grace.

Giving to Missions with the same amount as that of our tithe is but just a reasonable benchmark to start with, having such faith that looks up to, and fully relies upon God, our Great Benefactor. May we always have a sense of Mission in everything we say and do, and sincerely engage ourselves in developing an outward Church focus, keeping the main thing of reaching the lost in our community and beyond, the main thing!

All By God’s Grace and For God’s Glory!
